Today, DeKalb County hosted it’s “Spring Forward” Beautification and Code Compliance Town Hall. DeKalb County’s goal is to strengthen community pride, promote clean environments, and encourage community engagement to keep DeKalb beautiful.
Today’s event was a lunch-and-learn about the County’s efforts in maintaining a clean and healthy environment and promoting a better quality of life for residents and visitors. The event focused on connection and education, providing tools and resources to participants to empower them in making a meaningful impact in their communities and neighborhoods.
DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson’s visionary leadership continues to inspire progress toward a cleaner, greener, and more unified DeKalb.
“As CEO, I am committed to working together to build clean streets and safe spaces we can all be proud of,” said CEO Lorrain Cochran-Johnson. “This is a shared responsibility. The people of DeKalb deserve a beautiful community that enhances their quality of life.”
Remarks were given by DeKalb CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and COO Zach Williams. Information and materials were provided by numerous county departments, including presentations by Tracy Hutchinson, director, Sanitation and Beautification, and Tim Hardy, deputy director, Code Compliance.
“It was an honor to be invited by Madam CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson to join this important effort,” said Tracy Hutchinson. “Beautification is more than just cleaning up — it’s about building pride, strengthening neighborhoods, and working together to create a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant DeKalb.”
