Construction to replace sewer lines and manhole structures

Efforts to improve the watershed system throughout DeKalb County continue Monday, April 21, with the launch of the 2nd and 3rd Avenue Sewer Improvement Project in Decatur. Normal construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.

This sewer improvement project is expected to last approximately nine months (April 2025 to January 2026), barring any weather delays.

Crews will replace approximately 1,900 feet of gravity sewer main between 2nd and 3rd Avenue.

An increase in construction-related noise and traffic during work hours should be expected.
