Join community leaders and experts for a crucial discussion addressing homelessness in DeKalb County at the "It Takes a Village" Town Hall.
As homelessness continues to be a pressing issue in DeKalb County, Commissioner Robert Patrick is proud to announce, "It Takes a Village," a town hall conversation dedicated to addressing this critical concern. The event will take place on Friday, April 12, at Mercer University, starting at 8 a.m. and concluding at 12 noon.
"We believe that tackling homelessness requires a collective effort," said DeKalb Commissioner Robert Patrick, District 1. "By convening this town hall, we hope to unite our community in a shared commitment to compassion, empathy, and action."
Homelessness has become an increasingly prevalent issue in DeKalb County, mirroring trends seen across the nation. With neighboring municipalities intensifying their efforts to combat homelessness, there is a notable migration of affected individuals into our county. It is imperative that we come together as a community to confront this challenge head-on and explore effective solutions.
The "It Takes a Village" town hall aims to foster an open dialogue among community members, experts, advocates, and policymakers. By bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences, we seek to gain deeper insights into the root causes of homelessness in DeKalb County and develop collaborative strategies to address them.
During the town hall, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions led by prominent speakers and experts in the field of homelessness. Through informative presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, participants will gain a better understanding of the complexities surrounding homelessness and explore innovative approaches to support those in need.
The event is open to the public, and we encourage all concerned citizens, community leaders, organizations, and members of the media to attend. Together, let's work towards creating a more inclusive, supportive, and resilient community for all residents of DeKalb County.
