Commissioner Robert Patrick kicked off the season with the launch of his Fall Community Meeting Series at Evansdale Elementary on September 22nd with speakers from Planning and Sustainability, Fire Services, Georgia Safe Sidewalks, and Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The purpose of the Fall Community Meeting series is to increase engagement between residents and their county government representative. Commissioner Patrick’s idea for the series is to conduct meetings throughout District 1 neighborhoods and to discuss topics and issues that directly affect these areas.

Each meeting will feature reports and updates from various county departments. After the reports and presentations, residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide their feedback.

Engaging with constituents is a constant focal point for Commissioner Patrick. “It is one thing to hear residents’ concerns via email, but speaking directly to and connecting with people is a more personal experience,” stated Commissioner Patrick.

The next Fall Community Meeting will be at Smoke Rise Elementary (4780 Hugh Howell Rd., Tucker, GA 30084), Thursday October 6, 2022, from 6:30 pm – 8pm. The meeting agenda includes updates and reports from the following departments:

  • DeKalb Police
  • DeKalb Fire Rescue
  • DeKalb County Public Works
  • DeKalb County Sanitation

There are two additional meetings scheduled for this series. Those meetings include:

  • October 13th, Midvale Elementary School, 6:30 pm – 8 pm.
  • October 20th, Ashford Park Elementary School, 6:30 pm – 8pm.
