DECATUR, Ga.—DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw has partnered with several local organizations to present the fourth annual Refugee Career Summit on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Georgia State University’s Clarkston Campus located at 555 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston, GA 30021.
“I am pleased to have partnered with Friends of Refugees, Georgia State University, Africans Immigrants Communities Inc., Coalition of Refugee Service Agencies, DeKalb County Department of Human Resources, Worksource DeKalb and the many sponsors who have mobilized their services and resources to bring forth this necessary event for all DeKalb County constituents,” said Commissioner Bradshaw.
The Refugee Career Summit, a community event organized by Friends of Refugees three years ago, is designed for local refugees and immigrants seeking the next step in their careers. Hiring employers will be in attendance for a day of networking and opportunities. All DeKalb County residents are welcome to attend.
The first portion of this event features leaders in refugee employment in workshops. The latter half of the day will include a public job fair. Invited are community members with a variety of skills seeking employment. Jobseekers will need to bring their ID and are encouraged to bring a resume.
