* O.C.G.A. § 21-2-92(a)(2) allows interested poll officials from counties adjoining DeKalb (Clayton, Fulton, Henry, Gwinnett, and Rockdale) to serve as a DeKalb County Poll Official. Interested individuals must receive the approval of the adjoining county by completing the Poll Official Employment Waiver with a DeKalb County Poll Official Employment Application.

Poll Workers Eligibility:

• Must be a U.S. citizen, age 16 years or older
• Must reside in or be employed by DeKalb County*  
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English  
• Cannot be a candidate for office or a relative of a candidate in the assigned poll  
• Cannot hold public office  
• Must meet the performance and training requirements as specified by the Voter Registration and Elections Director

General Information: Employees typically begin their county employment at the minimum salary specified for the class. Salary increments are based on merit. Recency of experience may be a determining factor. Work Schedule: Employees may be required to regularly work on various shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as deemed necessary by the employing department.
