DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and District 2 Commissioner Jeff Rader will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate improvements at Briarlake Forest Park on Friday, March 9, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held at 3330 Briarlake Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
The Friends of Briarlake Forest Park group received a $10,000 grant from Park Pride and Commissioner Rader contributed $155,000 towards the project through the 2001 and 2006 Park Bond funds to enhance the installation of trails, gardens, signage, pavilion plaza, parking lot, a pond and bridge. The public is invited to join park staff and county officials at the ceremony. Attendees will also learn more about the Friends of Briarlake Forest Park, upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
