DeKalb County to Honor Heroic Firefighters

DECATUR, Ga. — DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond and the Board of Commissioners will recognize the firefighters of DeKalb County Fire Rescue (DCFR) for their role in rescuing Avondale Forest Apartments residents. On Jan. 3, DeKalb County firefighters boldly rushed to face danger and saved several families, including children, who were trapped in the burning apartment building.

The county will recognize DCFR employees with a proclamation during the Board of Commissioners meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 9 a.m. at Maloof Auditorium, 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, GA 30030.
