Floodplain Management

Welcome to Roads and Drainage Floodplain Management Site

Roads and Drainage Floodplain Management operates all the protocols and programs for preventing and correcting flood damage by controlling development and construction such that would minimize the community’s risk to life and property, preserve and enhance the natural floodplain function thus, ensuring its optimal functionality. The County participates in the National Flood Insurance Program and the Community Rating System (CRS).

The Division manages the County’s Community Rating System (CRS) program. Thus, it is the responsible authority for submitting its annual re-certification application to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It also serves as the repository for Elevation Certificates, Flood Insurance Rate Maps, Flood Insurance Studies and associated data which are made available for reference to the public upon request.
