DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County is launching a new micro-enterprise training program to help provide aspiring entrepreneurs in the county access to training, coaching and support services designed to foster business development, growth and expansion. The start-up cohort begins Sept. 7.
The DeKalb Small Business Micro-Enterprise Accelerator Program is a 10-week training and development track that covers venture ideas and feasibility, business plan development, financial education, accounting and record keeping and more. At the end of the class, participants will present their business plans for evaluation.
The program begins Sept. 7, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and will continue each Thursday through Nov. 16. Classes will take place at WorkSource DeKalb located at 774 Jordan Lane, Bldg. 4, Decatur, GA 30033, and are led by Urban League of Greater Atlanta. The program fee is $49 per person. The cohort is limited to 25 participants, and participants must either be DeKalb residents or have been operating a business less than two years in DeKalb.
An information session will take place Thursday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m., located at WorkSource DeKalb.
