DECATUR, Ga.— DeKalb County will host a groundbreaking for the Glenwood Road sidewalk project on Thursday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m., at Shoal Creek II Park, 3643 Glenwood Road, Decatur, GA 30032. The county plans to add nearly two miles of sidewalk along both sides of Glenwood Road from east of Candler Road to Columbia Drive. The project will improve pedestrian safety and will include a pedestrian-activated crosswalk signal to aid in crossing the street at Shoal Creek Parks. County, Georgia Department of Transportation and federal dollars were used to fund the $4.4 million sidewalk project.
