Section of I-20 Westbound Shut Down in DeKalb County

DECATUR, Ga.— Interstate I-20 Westbound, between Candler and Gresham roads, has been shut down due to an underground gas leak causing the road to buckle.

Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes until further notice. To continue westbound on I-20, motorists must leave the highway at Flat Shoals, Exit 63, and travel on Cook Road to reenter the interstate.

The DeKalb County Police and Fire Rescue departments are on the scene as well as Georgia Department of Transportation which is assessing the situation.
