DECATUR, Ga. – A portion of the southbound lane of Lavista Road near the intersection with Fairoaks Road in Decatur will be closed from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m., Monday, April 16, for road resurfacing.
As part of DeKalb County’s $1.345 billion Capital Improvement Program, crews working on behalf of the Department Watershed Management have installed more than 4,700 feet of new water main on Fairoaks Road between Lavista and Oak Grove roads to improve area water service.
Repaving and restriping at the Lavista/Fairoaks intersection roads will be among the final construction activities for project.
Motorists and MARTA passengers that use Lavista Road at the Fairoaks Road intersection should expect delays and plan for extra commuting time.
Lane closure signs will be in the area alerting drivers to the construction zone and local traffic restrictions. For more information, visit the DWM website at www.dekalbwatershed.com or call the DWM Project Information Line at 1-800986-1108 or email projectinfo@dekalbcountyga.gov.
