DECATUR, GA. – DeKalb County voters selected Gregory Adams to fill the vacant commissioner seat for Super District 7. More than 6,000 voters participated in Tuesday’s runoff election.

The DeKalb County Board of Elections is reporting that Adams won the seat with 52.24 percent of 6,790 total votes, beating his opponent Randal Mangham.

The race began with nine candidates vying for the seat. In the general election, Adams received 26 percent of the vote and Mangham 16 percent. Since neither candidate received more than half the votes, a runoff was required.

Adams will represent more than 350,000 residents throughout Doraville, Lithonia, Stone Mountain, Tucker and unincorporated DeKalb.
