DECATUR, Ga. – Hundreds of residents gathered at various National Night Out events around DeKalb County to promote safe neighborhoods.

“National Night Out is really about the residents of the community partnering with local law enforcement and the county government to keep our county safe,” said DeKalb Interim CEO Lee May, who attended several events.

Interim CEO May kicked off National Night Out in the parking lot of the Gallery at South DeKalb in Decatur where nearly representatives from nearly 30 neighborhoods joined representatives from DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Rescue, Code Compliance, Gang Unit, Library Services and Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
