DeKalb to Host Recycling Roll Cart Exchange Events

DECATUR, Ga. – The DeKalb County Sanitation Division, in collaboration with local community partners, will host a series of recycling roll cart exchange events throughout the county.

During the events, existing recycling subscribers will have the opportunity to complete the mandatory roll cart exchange process by trading in their 18-gallon recycling bins for complimentary 35-gallon recycling roll carts, or upgrade to 65-gallon recycling roll carts for a one-time $15 prepaid fee. Only 500 roll carts will be available at each community event, and the exchange process must be completed by April 30, 2018. New recycling subscriptions can also be processed during both events. All event participants are required to complete a recycling subscription form, which can be obtained by visiting www.dekalbsanitation.com.

The current scheduled events are:

Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.                   Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, 8 a.m. – noon

Two roll cart exchange events were held in the city of Dunwoody, with more than 2,000 recycling subscribers participating. Additional events will be held throughout the county in spring 2018.

Roll cart exchange requests can also be submitted on an ongoing basis by mail, online by visiting www.dekalbsanitation.com, in person at the Sanitation Division’s administrative office, or by emailing sanitation3720@dekalbcountyga.gov. A recycling subscription form must be completed, and is available online. The trade-in process can be completed at the Sanitation Division’s administrative office, 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur, GA 30032, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
