DECATUR, Ga. — DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis is pleased to announce the sale of the county’s Clark Harrison Building at 330 West Ponce de Leon Avenue in downtown Decatur to the Task Force for Global Health.  The $12 million sale is scheduled to close today, Dec. 16. The Clark Harrison Building is a six-story structure with nearly 93,000 square feet of office space.

“The sale of this building represents the ongoing partnership that DeKalb County has with the Task Force,” said CEO Burrell Ellis.  “The relationship that we have developed will positively affect residents of DeKalb County through continued research and public health solutions.”

The proceeds from the sale of the building will pay down the debt of the 2013 Certificates of Participation refinancing; or pay for the acquisition, construction and/or equipping of county capital projects.

The Task Force for Global Health is Georgia’s largest nonprofit organization and the fourth largest in the United States, according to Forbes.  The Task Force has an estimated annual economic impact of $100 million in Georgia and employs over 100 full-time staff at its existing headquarters in Decatur.
