DECATUR, Ga.—DeKalb County officials from multiple agencies will announce DeKalb’s first record restriction summit, formerly known as expungement, in partnership with Saint Philip AME Church at a news conference Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m.
DeKalb County’s job fair and record restriction summit will take place April 21 at Saint Philip AME Church, but applications for record restrictions must be submitted in advance and are limited to 250 citizens. Record restriction may be available to citizens who have arrests by DeKalb County Police Department or Sheriff’s Office that did not result in a conviction. Record restriction can improve housing, job and financial access opportunities.
