DECATUR, Ga. — DeKalb County will celebrate the end of DeKalb Works, its successful summer youth employment program, on Friday, July 28, at 10:30 a.m., located at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center.
DeKalb Works was administered through WorkSource DeKalb and employed 300 interns at more than 70 job sites over six weeks. DeKalb County Board of Commissioners approved $250,000 in CEO Michael Thurmond’s 2017 budget to fund 155 intern positions; the remaining were employed with federal funds.
