At a recent DeKalb County Board of Commissioners’ Committee of the Whole meeting, Commissioner Steve Bradshaw proposed the adoption of the 2018 International Property Maintenance Code.

“The intent of this proposal is very straight forward,” Commissioner Bradshaw said. “It is simply to provide an additional tool in our toolbox as we work to address blighted conditions on existing properties in DeKalb County.”

Adoption of the International Property Maintenance Code with amendments to Chapter 18 of the Code of DeKalb County, Georgia, as revised 1988, pertaining to dwellings, rooming, and boarding houses and for other purposes ensures clarity for residents and code compliance officers.

“This proposal will be subjected to our normal committee review process and has therefore been assigned to the Planning Economic Development and Community Services Committee for that purpose,” Commissioner Bradshaw said.
