DECATUR, Ga.—DeKalb County Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will propose the allocation of $42,000 for improvements to Hamilton Park Recreation Center in Scottdale.

Commissioner Bradshaw, who toured the center in April, will propose the allocation of the District 4 parks bond funding during the June 27 Board of Commissioners’ meeting.

“This allocation of resources will provide necessary improvements to the center,” Commissioner Bradshaw said.

Facility updates needed at Hamilton Recreational Center include interior and exterior painting along with repairs to the flooring.

The nearby Tobie Grant Recreational Center is scheduled for demolition to make way for a new Tobie Grant Intergenerational Center. When this occurs the Hamilton Center will serve the children and community members that will be displaced until the new recreational center is built.

“I am committed to making policy decisions that enhance the quality of life for citizens in District 4 and it only makes sense to provide the funds to the center for long overdue improvements,” Commissioner Bradshaw said.
