DeKalb County citizens have a wealth of knowledge and experience along with a can-do spirit. They can offer valuable time and resources to our incredible system of parks during a time of limited budgets and reduced staffing. People can provide leadership and management skills, carpentry experience, native plant knowledge, artistic abilities, financial expertise, or simply a determination to do a good job. Working together with county staff, we can make our parks a safer and more pleasant recreational experience for the people of DeKalb.
To that end, DeKalb County has retained Park Pride - the only metro Atlanta nonprofit working with communities to improve local parks - to provide volunteer coordination services and guidance to a network of Friends of the Park groups. Park Pride has a strong history of partnerships in Atlanta's neighborhood parks and is recognized nationally for hosting the annual Parks & Greenspace Conference at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Now, Park Pride is here for you in DeKalb County.
