The Natural Resources Management Office (NRMO), within DeKalb County Public Works, is a member of the Infrastructure Group of departments. This office plans, implements, and coordinates natural resource and sustainability initiatives throughout DeKalb County. We also coordinate with regional partners including the ARC, city of Atlanta, and other metro counties for conservation and resource protection initiatives. This office acquires property for new parks and greenspace, oversees Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, coordinates the county's Sustainability Task Force, integrates planned environmental education and stewardship activities within the Infrastructure Group, and assists the Parks and Recreation Department with the development and maintenance of county parks. NRMO staff includes planners, a civil engineer, a geologist, administrators, project managers, and technicians dedicated to conserving the unique natural resources of the county. Our special resources include forests, land, air, water, wildlife, and, of course, the people of DeKalb. Contact us today to find out how you can help conserve natural resources in DeKalb County.
