DeKalb County Summer Youth Employment Program

Overview

The 2025 DeKalb Summer Youth Employment Program (DSYEP) offers 350 paid internships to eligible DeKalb County residents aged 16 to 21. Participants will receive work readiness training and gain practical on-the-job experience at various internship sites across DeKalb County.

Program Details

  • 💵 Hourly Wage: $15/hour

  • 📅 Schedule: 24 hours/week (Monday to Thursday)

  • 📆 Duration: 5 weeks — June 2, 2025 – July 3, 2025

Eligibility Requirements

To participate, applicants must:

  • ✅ Be a DeKalb County resident

  • 🎂 Be between 16 and 21 years old

  • 🧪 Successfully complete a drug screening and background check

Selection Process

Due to the high level of interest, participants will be selected via a random lottery system. Applicants not selected initially will be placed on a waiting list.
